National Aging and Disability Transportation Center

The National Aging and Disability Transportation Center (NADTC) promotes the availability and accessibility of transportation options for older adults, people with disabilities, caregivers and communities. NADTC is funded by the Federal Transit Administration with guidance from the Administration for Community Living and is co-administered by USAging and Easterseals.

NADTC provides technical assistance and information & referral; gathers and shares best practices; provides training and outreach; and administers community grants. NADTC activities also include a focus on assisting communities to effectively leverage the Fixing America’s Surface Transportation (FAST) Act Section 5310 Enhanced Mobility of Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities formula grants and other transit investments.

For consumers, NADTC and the Eldercare Locator work together to ensure that older adults who contact either program are able to obtain information about transportation resources available in their local community and access transportation services when they need a ride. Inclusive Coordinated Transportation Partnership Project

The Inclusive Coordinated Transportation Partnership Project (ICT), funded by the Administration for Community Living (ACL), was established to support community efforts to ensure that older adults and people with disabilities have opportunities for meaningful engagement in transportation planning, development and service delivery so that these services are more responsive to their needs and preferences. The project is currently supporting the development of Inclusive Demand Responsive Transportation projects in three communities: Atlanta, GA; Flagstaff, AZ; and Seattle, WA. USAging partners with the Community Transportation Association of America (CTAA), the Institute for Community Inclusion at UMass Boston and DJB Evaluation Consulting, LLC to administer the ICT project.
