The National Strategy to Support Family Caregivers, developed under the RAISE Family Caregivers Act, calls for bold action to improve the lives of family caregivers. At the heart of this strategy is a commitment to evidence-informed policies and programs—making research a key lever for change. Aging Network providers, such as Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs) and other community-based organizations (CBOs) are uniquely positioned to shape and inform this research and are increasingly being asked to partner with academic researchers.
This webinar will describe ways that AAAs are engaged in research activities and highlight successful AAA–researcher partnerships focused on caregiving programs and services. AAA staff will provide insights on how these partnerships were formed, describe the role of the AAA in the research process and share advice for Aging Network CBOs interested in working with academic researchers.
